One of the best things about the outdoors is getting together with others and enjoying it. Its a great family experience and a fun way to make new friends. Whether sitting around a camp fire or out shed antler hunting you're always going to have a good time.

We at The Life of Riley are avid shed antler hunters, in fact, we may be considered fanatics. Anyways, we never miss an opportunity to get out there and see if we can't find "the big one."

This particular year we got the permission of some friends to go shed antler hunting on a neighboring property. We were excited to get this opportunity. It was private land so very few people passed through there on their search for sheds. It had the potential to be a gold mine.

We set out early and extremely excited. We didn't know what to expect....and it didn't disappoint! Almost right away we stumble upon our first cute little antler. From there we just found more and more. It seemed everyone had found one.

When we caught up to our daughter we asked her if she found any.

"Yeah!" she excitedly exclaimed pulling out a couple of small antlers.

"Cool! Nice job! We found some too!" we exchanged antlers looking at the prizes we'd both found.

Then she spoke up again,"Well I also found this one up over that way..." she said this as she sheepishly pulled a huge shed antler out from behind her back. We then all cracked up laughing. It was more than twice the size of what we'd already found. From that day on she acquired the title of the antler queen.
